Heeeeeeyyyyyyy guuuuuyyyyyssss!!!

Uhh, I don't really have a favorite performance? The first thing I thought of was Becky Kassay as Abigail in The Crucible. She was amazing. There were so many levels to her character and she portrayed each and every one of them to the point where they weren't obvious, but they were extremely noticeable. She was this fake-nice teenager with a lustful, conniving sinful person underneath. I loved her performance. Go Crucible '06! =]

ok... so whoever reads this (espcially if you're a guy), will probably think i'm a loser... the girls might think this is kinda cute. My favorite acting performance was in "The Notebook"
I thought the characters Noah and Allie ,(the lovers), did a very good job with eachother and as individual. While watching this movie you could see in the characters faces what they were feeling at all times. When they were in love you could look into their eyes and see that they loved eachother. When they were mad at eachother you could see the fury in their eyes. When they were confused and lost without eachother you could see. I thought they acted very well with eachother and you could always tell what they were feeling in the movie at almost all times. BTW. This is Ray Weber... haha sorry for not mentioning that...

"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday."

My favorite acting performance...come on you had to start us out on something this hard? Well I'll just put the most recent one. I went to see The Dark Knight like 4 times..yeah, and every single time that I saw that movie and saw Heath Ledger as the Joker I got chills up my spine. His ability to get so into that character and that mindest of being just...psychotic and completley individual was just great. I could watch him play that part over and over again, and I have, and I probably will, but it was just great how he was able to portray the Joker and give him so many different emotions in just one line of dialouge.

"Why so serious?"

and i forgot to mention
im vicky betz

Okay, this question is really hard. I'm trying to think of the best performance, but my mind can't seem to think of anything. So I picked one of the many runners-up, instead of the #1. But anyway, the performance I chose is not exactly a famous one, so you might not have heard of it before. It's from a movie called Friday Night Lights, and includes one of my favorite characters, Don Billingsley. The love/hate extremes he had shown for his alcoholic father were amazing. The contrast between him and his father was so noticeable, yet he never really lost his cool. And though his team wasn't exactly a winning team (at first), his love and devotion towards football never failed. The hurt and misery of defeat was very evident on his face at the end of the movie as well. Lucky for me, we have this movie on DVR so i can watch it over and over.

Hate to copy people... but there have been a lot of great acting performances in my life... I have to say though that I am in a LOT of agreement with Betz. Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight was spectacular. I despised the movie and have not gone to see it more than once because it was horrible for me to sit through... but every single scene with the Joker was just worth it. I would watch it again and again just to see him play that part. It was so creepy and just... so in-tune. There will NEVER EVER be another person who could EVER measure up to his performance in TDK and I hope no one tries. It wasn't even just that... he had little tiny quirks and ways of doing things that were so realistic that it actually worried me. I really felt sucked in by his entire character. It was a splendid farewell movie for a well loved man. But also, ranking just as high (and I hope musicals count) was the performance of Stephenie J. Block in Wicked on Broadway. She's one of the 'traveling' Wicked cast, so she travels around the country and just happened to be in NYC at the time of the show I went to. Oh my god, her performance had me in tears. She was just... you could feel her pain and every single emotion in her part (Elphaba.) Those will last in my mind forever.

Well I've seen a bunch of great performances in my life, and I would've picked Heath in The Drak Night, but it's already been done twice. So, I will pick Shia LaBeouf's performance in both Disturbia, and Transformers.
When you compare the two charachters he played in those movies, and how different they were, it's amazing to see how real he makes each charachter. He gets into mannerism's and quirks of the character, and he holds a certain tone the entire time. I always find those character's really well-played, especially Kayle (Disturbia).
The troubles of that character are really brought to life by Shia, and i love to watch that movie over and over.

hmmm ugh i don't like questions like this because i think there are so many amazing and wonderful things done by actors and actresses in countless performances that they have done, so it is so hard to pick a favorite. so i will talk about one of my numerous favorites =]. one of my favorite theater performances was the pair of Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff in Spring Awakening. and i know some of you are like ughghg thats so stupid but i have have good reasons why so keep reading! i thought they were amazing becuase first of all the characters they were playing were 14. Now from all the way where i was sitting even i could tell that neither of them were even close to the age of fourteen. but their commitment made me completely not even think abuot that. When they were onstage they were so completely their characters that it was like i was just watching a couple of 14 year olds like do these things that they were doing. It also was very impressive when they had their sex scene becuase what it is supposed to be is that the girl has no idea what sex even is so when i saw that that is exactly how it was on the stage. Like whatever i dont even know im gunna stop rambling but basically they wre both incredible and i loved every second of them on the stage. GO SEE THIS SHOW BEFORE IT CLOSES!

What makes a performance memorable to me is when I can truly connect with the character. One of my favorites examples is Tom Hanks in the movie Forest Gump. For one thing, I absolutely loved the way he portrayed his character. Forest Gump was meant to be a slow, naive person but Tom Hanks added so much more to the character: Loving, gentle, caring, open minded, innocent, etc... He connected with his character and was able to portray the mindset of Forest Gump on a deeper level. The way I see it, Tom Hanks really believed he was Forest Gump and I believed it as well. I was able to connect with him as a person and not just a character. I cried when Forest cried and felt everything that he felt. For these reasons, Tom Hank's performance in Forest Gump was really memorable to me.

my favorite acting performance was James Stewart for his role as George Bailey in "It's A Wonderful Life." By watching him, I can tell he's worked really hard to make one heck of a performance in the film. He was acting great physically and mentally and emotionally. Love that movie!!! :)

My favorite acting performance to date was Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. He had to play a paranoid schizophrenic which is obviously no easy task. Although it was difficult he made it look easy. He was so into character that I wouldn't even of thought it was him if I didn't already know. It gave me the chills which to me is the reason why I think this performance is so memorable. When an actor/actress can connect with their audience and get a strong reaction out of them, you know it's a good performance. Rest in Peace Heath Ledger. Your beautiful faceee will be missed greatlyyyyyy :[

It's so hard to choose only one acting performance out of all the movies, plays, skits, etc. that I've seen as my favorite. But one recent acting performance that does stick out in my mind at the moment is Michael Pitt in the movie Funny Games. In the movie Funny Games Michael Pitt plays the character Paul, who is a deranged psycho that decides to have some twisted fun with an innocent family. Paul seemed to be a very challenging character to play because not only did Michael have to portray a mad man, but at the same time his character also remains very polite and well manured at all times throughout the movie. This is what I believe Michael Pitt did an excellent job at. He did an excellent job portraying his character by acting like he was polite and innocent throughout the film, but at the same time giving the character a really creepy and uneasy feeling to him. Funny Games is also a movie I'd like to reccommend to everyone here who has not seen it. This movie has one of my favorite endings to just about any movie I think I've seen in the last ten years.
